Selin Seher Güler
Instructor of Legal Consulting and Women’s Rights Trainings of SWEP
Selin Seher Güler born in Sivas in 1991. Güler graduated from İstanbul University’s Faculty of Law in 2014. After her graduation, she worked at Özeyranlı Law Office for 1,5 years where she was a lawyer for Akbank and İşbank. She then worked as a lawyer in the field of private and public law in Savoy Law Office for 6 months.
Since 2017, Güler has been working as a legal counsel for the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation. Within her position, she provides Syrian refugees with legal information sessions about different topics such as the Turkish legal system, the legal status of refugees in Turkey, temporary protection, official procedures of Syrian refugees in Turkey, the family law as a part of the Turkish civil code, inheritance law, property law, Turkish criminal law, crimes and punishments, domestic violence law, child protection law, Turkish nationality law, lease agreement law as a part of the Turkish obligations law, labor law and work permit, accessing to the right of health and education.
Güler also provides individual legal consultancy, and follows up the process with the related organizations and institutions.
Furthermore, Güler has attended trainings on the topics of child rights, prevention of child neglect and abuse, women's rights, legislation on the prevention of violence against women and specialization in refugee law.
Selin Seher Güler works on the Syrian Women Empowerment Project as the employee of the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation to support Syrian women with issues regarding legal consultancy and as the instructor on the topics of women’s rights and refugee women’s rights.
